Welcome to the web home of Maurice "Mo" Egeston. Maurice Egeston is a pianist, band leader and educator from St. Louis, MO who spends his time both performing and working as an educator in the classroom and the private studio.
Mo did his graduate studies at SIU-E with Linda Perry and he has been the adjunct music instructor at Columbia College-St. Louis since 1996. He also taught from 2000-2004 at McKendree University.

A 16 year veteran of the St. Louis music scene, Mo first emerged as a band leader during the birth of the Washington Ave nightlife scene in the mid 90's. Soon after, regional favorites Vargas Swing brought the sounds of the swing revival to the St. Louis club scene and were featured on 2 national compilations. |
Next came the pioneering live house project Urban Jazz Naturals who had singles remixed and released globally by J.T. Donaldson and Demarkus Lewis. UJN eventually evolved into mo & dawn: the remix project.
In 2008 the Mo E Family was born as a catch all for the variety of projects Mo currently leads. (use the links above for more information)
- mo E All-Stars- House, funk and breaks with flavors of Latin, nu jazz and soul
- Soul Alliance featuring CocoSoul- dance, house, soul, pop and disco
- mo E trio- jazz, bossa, swing & soul in a trio setting
- Mowinda-violin and piano Classical Chamber Ensemble
Mo also records and performs as a member of St. Louis rock band Brothers Lazaroff who released the album Give Em What They Need in 2010. Click here to go to the CD Baby page.
